A Bit About Charley Hendren
As a nationally recognized western entertainer, Charley shares his horseback heritage at conventions, schools, cowboy festivals, rodeo's, and private engagements across the country, but his first love is sharing the message of eternal salvation that the Lord freely offers through His son Jesus. Charley is a former Academy of Western Artists Male Vocalist of the Year nominee. He is also a champion of national cowboy poetry competition and has been described as one of the top three cowboy poets writing today.
Charley has ministered at churches, conferences, and Christian ranch settings from coast to coast. His cowboy-style preaching messages, such as "God Is A Good Cowboy", "Round Pen Redemption", and "The Trail Home", include songs and poems of the West that magnify the patience, mercy, and invitation of the Lord. A performing member of the Western Music Association and the Academy of Western Artists, Charley shares his music in the campfire style of voice and guitar, combining old-time gospel trail tunes with yodeling and more contemporary offerings to honor America's cowboy heritage and the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Charley has been a featured guest on the nationally syndicated radio program Letters From the Trail as well as in American Cowboy magazine. Original poetry and articles have appeared in The Line Rider (official magazine of the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys), American Cowboy magazine, Western Horseman magazine, and others. |
